1999 outing from Sweden's premier heavy metal virtuoso guitarist. 13 tracks. The initial pressing only comes in a full color slipcase with a one-sided, full color 14.5 inch x 16 inch foldout poster of the cover art.

This album was originally released to international audiences in 1999. Yngwie's deal with Spitfire records has now made it available in the U.S.! Technically the sound of this album really packs a punch! While perhaps a bit overprocessed, it's as clean a recording as you'll find anywhere. Yngwie's guitar wizardry is still a bit formulaic here, but definitely a revival of his earlier works. The instrumentals are just a notch below his epic "Rising Force". There are five instrumental tracks, counting the finale, which is performed in three parts. As with any Yngwie album, the instrumentals are the true gems. With Mark Boals on vocals, and Yngwie dominating the creative process, the songs are the only thing keeping this release from a five star rating. The first tracks are clearly the best. The instrumental piece "Blitzkrieg" starts the album off with a bang. "Leonardo" is a clever tribute to the ultimate renaissance man. The next few songs gradually slide into the abyss of ponderous odes to war, dragon slaying, vengance and redemption. Smack in the middle of the disc is "Blue", a refreshing instrumental exhibtion of Yngwie's love for the blues. Not surprising since one of his idols is Jimi Hendrix. From there, we dive right back into the pit of poor lyricism, contrasted by some well crafted music. The worst cut on the entire album is the last song, "Voodoo Nights." It simply sounds like an idea that wasn't fully developed, yet thrown onto the album anyway. The album is saved however, when Yngwie plugs in for the closing trilogy of instrumentals. All is right with the world again.... If you are into Yngwie's songwriting, you'll love it. If you can stand to buy an album for the instrumentals, and the chance you'll like some of the songs, buy it. This is the best Yngwie release in years, and if you're a fan that's been holding out, now's the time to get back in the game!
