Superb playing by all members of the ensemble with particularly astonishing contributions by Parker himself, by Roscoe Mitchell and pianist Craig Taborn. This is the most structured music Parker has ever released. His often beautiful writing has an emotional character somewhere between Gil Evans and Luigi Nono and opens up whole new avenues of possibility for Parker s future music.
