They're supported by Tool, the bassist plays with Tool, the cover resembles Tool, and they're definitely JUST AS GOOD! But make no mistake, this is NOT Tool. The album was on the site, the band plays intros to Tool's shows, and is very closely tied to the band, but ONLY through bassist Justin Chancelor. They seem to be a bit more on the melodic and slow, poetic side than Tool is (until recently, with Lateralus, though). They're quite talented when they play together, and they all know exactly what they're doing. My favorites are Velvet, Signpost in the Sea, Spasm, and You Lied. This is a more underground band that has, surprisingly, been around for quite a long time! I have no idea where to find any of their other material, or if any other material even exists. Maybe someone out there could help me? Anyway, Giving Birth to a Stone is definitely worth getting! If you're looking for a copycat of Tool, this isn't the spot to be looking. They're similar in some respects, but different on music!
