Petey Pablo's first album "Diary of a Sinner" is alright if you like his flow. Timbaland produced "Raise Up" the lead single off album, got alot of emotion and power to it, making it a nice hiphop anthem track for a bit. This track raised my expectations of album, but the tracks that follow are mostly dissapointing, skippable tracks, with a few exceptions like 919 and Fool for Love my favourite track on the album, where pablo goes deep. Still too put this album up as one of the best albums of the year back then was just straight wrong. It was a decent debut from a newcomer but it was not a great one. The decent tracks are decent and the wack ones are truly wack, overall album isnt bad, and props to him for coming out. Can you like mcs that use lyrics like: "I'm the one that's gon' carry Jive past N'Sync status", maybe you can but I cant =). To his credit he puts alot of emotion into his music, and has decent delivery. Maybe production is part of whats wrong with this album, if Timbaland had done whole album things might of been better, definetly on beats. Look forward to hearing his next album.
