QUO VADIS - Day into Night. - Honestly nothing fills me with more pride then when I hear a band this good and find out they are Canadian. Honestly, I'm not much of a Hockey Guy anymore...so besides taking Pride in Beer all I have is Music. Quo Vadis is an incredible band based out of Quebec. Music wise they are hard to describe. Best comparison I can make is: The Technical ability of later-day Death, blended with the fury of Sepultura's Arise-Era Thrash and Dark Tranquility's Melodic Metal. (Speaking of DEATH, on their newest album "Defiant Imagination" Steve Digorgio is on the bass!) All the instrumentation is amazing!!! The Guitar work is precise, epic, and has lots of great solos, The Bass work is actually audible and very busy... this man understands how a bass should sound in Metal, and the Drums... oh the drums... they are fantastic, besides being a master of the double-kickers this man does some fantastic fills and is great with symbol work as well. Vocals are the bands weaker point - they are traditional metal style (Kinda like a Dark Tranquility rasp) but offer subtle spoken word variations which sound really cool... However, the Vocals are only a minor complaint. Overall I find them listenable and even understandable. (Most times) Believe me it shouldn't be enough to turn you off of this stunning musical offering.
