The image I've uploaded is a scan from the original CD. KNAC was a - or the - hard rock/heavy metal station in the Los Angeles area in the 80s to the very early 90s. Had a huge following. L.A. had a bunch of programmed stations, a few AOR stations (KMET and KLOS) and then this one short-lived head-banging outlet. They were sold because frequencies were gold at the time in Los Angeles. So several times KNAC held a "Pure Rock" contest. Bands had to be local and unsigned. Winners would get on the CD. Some, in theory, get a record deal. And some of the tunes are fantastic. The Aces & Eights and Crisis songs are pretty darned good and typical of the hard-hair at the time. But some weren't so timeless. (In fairness, the big genres in the 80s were "dance", "techno" and variants of pop. Which aged even worse. Remember "Haircut 100", "The Fixx" or "Culture Club", all huge chart toppers?) This was the second of the three albums KNAC produced. (The first was "Pure Rock", which is why this is "Son Of".) If the third made it to print, I haven't seen it.
