There were a few bad choices for beats here but in my opinion it was time for them to rap over something other than a Neptunes beat. They sound better than ever lyrically & Sandman is a fresh new addish to the clipse formula because of his personality on tracks, but Ab-liva is the straight spitter of the crew. The Clipse, Ab-Liva & Sandman are at they're best when the mood is somber and/or dark and there are alot of those tracks on this album. Even their party tracks sound dark but well thought out & written. This is a pretty good first venture w/o Pharrel. But since they're not under the Neptunes wings anymore alot of people have been down on the clipse. But I'm here to tell you they're here to stay.
