Yo this was a great surprise for me. I had no idea who these cats were when I got their album a few days ago, it's so dope I never wanted it to end...and when it did, I played it again. Right now I have over 600 old-school hip-hop albums, and I buy about 2 more every week. As you can imagine, I own ALL the classics and slept-on gems (at least I think I do), so now I'm buying "experimental" (ie, hit or miss albums I've never heard of before) and I'd say about 1 out of 3 are worth the money I paid for them. Lune (pro. LOON - not Looney) Tunz, was worth every penny. It's everything I hoped it'd be, a NY album dropped in '93 when the beats were hard or funky or whatever, but always slammin' and MC's were full of passion and energy, just having fun with Hip-Hop. This is truly hard, head-bobbin' sh*t and believe me when I tell you the beats are AMAZING. That's what stands out most w/ this album, the crazy production. It's as if they sampled some background music from a Bugs Bunny cartoon, and made it funky. The MC's are fierce and raw but their styles fit the beats perfectly. The best comparion I can think up is Onyx meets "Looney Toons."
