Martin Zellar is an outstanding singer/songwriter. His heart wrenching country-rock songs are as human and intimate as anything I've ever heard. I was a fan of his first band, the Gear Daddies, and I've been a fan ever since. 'Born Under' was his first solo outing, and possibly his finest batch of songs yet. It's almost a crime that a songwriter like Zellar is as unknown as he is. He deserves to be heard by a wider audience. This is great music. The song 'East Side Boys' was a regular at Gear Daddies live shows, and it finally gets the studio treatment it deserves on this disc. Other stand out songs here are 'Lie To Me', "Somethings Gotta Happen" and "Problem Solved". Also be sure to check out Martin Zellar and the Hardways CD's "The Many Moods of Martin Zellar" and the Martin Zellar Live album. All great stuff.
